The 'Start Stop Method' to cure premature ejaculation


The technique is about stimulating your penis until you reach the point of no return, and then stopping. When your arousal reduces, you start stimulating it again.

 

The main cause of premature ejaculation is that the man is unaware of what level of sexual arousal he is in.

There are 4 phases a man goes through, from start of erection to end of erection.

  1. Excitement phase : Breathing becomes deeper, erection begins
     
  2. Plateau stage : He feels highly aroused, and has a full erection
     
  3. Orgasm with ejaculation
     
  4. Resolution phase : Breathing returns to normal, erection collapses

As a man gets more and more aroused, there comes a point between phase 2 and
phase 3 (described above), after which he has no control and he ejaculates. It's the
point of no return. Becoming aware of this point is key to develop control over one's ejaculation.

 

 
Couples technique
If you have a partner to practice this on

Take a shower, get some privacy (no phone, kids or tv), take off your clothes, get into bed with your partner and follow the below steps.

It is recommended that you do each step at least 4 times, in a duration of 1-2 weeks.

 

Step 1 :  Stop-start with manual stimulation
She stimulates your penis by stroking it rhythmically, up and down. Show her the way you like it, by guiding her hand. When you feel you are approaching orgasm but before you reach the point of no return, ask her to STOP. When your arousal comes down to a controllable level, signal her to start again. Note : Don’t wait too long. Wait just long enough for the excitement to reduce but not long enough to lose your erection. Keep doing this until you can last for 15 minutes.

 

After at least 4 sessions of step 1 spread over a week or two
go to Step 2

 

Step 2 : Stop-start with lubricated manual stimulation
Same as Step 1, but this time she strokes with a lubricated hand until you can last 15 minutes.

 

After at least 4 sessions of step 2 spread over a week or two
go to Step 3

 

Step 3 : Stop-start with oral stimulation
Same as Step 1, but this time instead of her hand, she uses her mouth (if she’s not comfortable performing oral sex, skip to step 4). At the start she simply holds your penis inside her mouth without moving much. When that’s under control, get her to move her mouth, lips and tongue to increase the stimulation.

 

After at least 4 sessions of step 3 spread over a week or two
go to Step 4

 

Step 4 : Stop-start with woman-on-top (passive)
Lie on your back and breathe deeply. She stimulates your penis by hand or orally until you have a hard erection. She then sits astride your hips and gently inserts your penis in her well-lubricated vagina by lowering herself onto your penis.

She sits still with your penis inside. Focus on the good sensations your penis feels inside her wet vagina. Move just enough to maintain your erection for about 15 minutes.

 

After 4 sessions of step 4 spread over a week or two, go to Step 5

 

Step 5 : Stop-start with woman-on-top (active)

Same as step 4, but you actively thrust up until you can maintain your erection for 15 minutes.

 

After 4 sessions of this…

 
Now you lie still, while she actively moves up and down until you can last 15 minutes.

 

After 4 sessions of this…

 

Now you both move actively until you can last 15 minutes.


Step 6 : Stop-start with man-on-top

After you’re able to maintain your erection with woman-on-top, do the stop-start exercises in the man-on-top position.

Most men find this the most arousing position and that’s why, the most challenging for ejaculation control.

But if you continue to focus on your pleasurable sexual sensations before orgasm, and stop & start stimulation like in the previous steps, most men can ultimately control their ejaculation even when they’re on top of their lover.

 

 

 
Solo technique
If you would like to practice this on your own

In this technique you masturbate while using stop-start stimulation.
It is recommended that you spend at least 30 minutes per session.

Get comfortable. Find a place where you won’t be disturbed. Create an environment with whatever arouses you; with incense, music or erotic videos. Avoid drugs and alcohol, they interfere with the awareness of sensations.

Undress. Before you begin masturbating, caress every square inch of your body, from head to toe…your neck, scalp, face, chest, shoulders, abdomen, thighs, feet, every part except your penis. Distributing sensations across your body takes the pressure of your penis to ejaculate.
                                        

Step 1 : Stop-start stimulation of penis
Begin masturbating by rhythmically stroking the shaft and tip of your penis [video] with your hand. As your arousal rises, focus on the pleasurable sensations coming from your penis.

Just before you are about to ejaculate, stop stimulating your penis for a few seconds (long enough for excitement to go down a little, but not long enough to lose erection). Then start stroking again. Continue the STOP-START stimulation until you can last about 15 minutes. Then, let yourself ejaculate freely.

Note : Throughout the process do not try to hold back your ejaculation. Try to focus on the pleasurable penile sensations as you approach the point of return and then back off by reducing the stimulation. Don’t reduce stimulation to zero, slow down or stop stimulation of your penis, but continue caressing the less sensitive parts of your body until the urge to ejaculate goes away.


Step 2 : Stop-start stimulation of penis (with lubricant)

Repeat Step 1 two to three times, over a week or two, until you get to know your plateau phase well, and begin to feel a bit more control. Men with severe PE may need to do it eight to ten times.

Then, repeat Step 1 with a lubricated hand. Lubrication produces more intense sensations like the feeling of thrusting into a moist vagina. Use a sexual lubricant like KY-Jelly or vegetable oil or Vaseline.

Keep stimulating your penis, until you reach the point of no return then back off. Long enough for excitement to go down a little, but not long enough to lose erection. Continue the STOP-START stimulation until you can last for 15 minutes.

Do this for a few weeks, and you should be able to stay in the plateau phase for as long as you want.
